The South Korean actress/martial artist/musician Soon Hee Hewbold was adopted by the Newbold family as child. She grew up in the American city Frederick (state of Maryland) with two younger half-sisters. She has two older biological sisters and a brother who still live in South Korea. Her parents work as teachers at a deaf school. Her mother has diagnosed with Huntington's disease, an terminal and devastating genetic neurological illness.
